Arica, with a population of 196,590 , (/əˈriːkə/ ə-REE-kə; Spanish: [aˈɾika]) is Chile's most northern city and is just 18 km from the Peruvian border. It is a major commercial seaport. It is a free port for Bolivia and manages a substantial part of that country's trade.
