Call Blyth Harbor on VHF 12 before entering or leaving the harbor.

Blyth can be identified by the two large wind turbines east of the harbour and multiple smaller turbines on the east harbour wall. There is also a white tower on the south end of the harbour wall which is lit with the characteristics of 4 flashes every 10 seconds. Keep south of this light when approaching to avoid the rocks to the east of the harbour. From the same location there is a sectored fixed red light which marks the rocks - keep out of the red sector. Once south east of the light pick up the leading line marked by two diamonds bearing 324 (lit fixed blue at night) to enter the harbour.

Navigation

Blyth can be identified by the two large wind turbines east of the harbour and multiple smaller turbines on the east harbour wall. There is also a white tower on the south end of the harbour wall which is lit with the characteristics of 4 flashes every 10 seconds. Keep south of this light when approaching to avoid the rocks to the east of the harbour. From the same location there is a sectored fixed red light which marks the rocks - keep out of the red sector. Once south east of the light pick up the leading line marked by two diamonds bearing 324 (lit fixed blue at night) to enter the harbour.

Call Blyth Harbour on VHF 12 before entering or leaving the harbour.

Blyth is a busy commercial harbour and care should be taken not to get in the way of commercial vessels entering or leaving the harbour. On entering you will need to keep to the starboard side of the channel and then turn port to cross the channel when the south harbour is abeam and the channel is clear of shipping.
