Boa Vista (Portuguese meaning “good view”) is the easternmost island of Cape Verde. It is located in the Barlavento group of the archipelago.

The Peak of Estância is the highest point of the island, measuring about 390 metres. It has large areas of white sand dunes. Oases of date palms are found here and there, and are the typical vegetation of the island. A few baobab trees can also be found in isolated locations.

Boa Vista has 55 km of white sand beaches and clear water.

The port is not suitable for visiting yachts. You must anchor Ilhéu de Sal Rei and come ashore with the dinghy using either the quay or the beach.

Anchor in 4-6 m depth as close to the E side of the island where the swell is less. You can then go to the poert with the dinghy.
