S.B. di Simionato Giovanni (Cervignano del Friuli)

The moorings and boatyard of S.B. di Simionato Giovanni & C. sas are situated near the town of Cervignano del Friuli, four miles up the River Ausa on the N shores of the Laguna di Marano, which lies on the N Adriatic coast of Italy between Venice andTrieste. The yard has 40 moorings on riverside pontoons in maximum depths of 2.5 metres and a yard with hard standing for up to 200 yachts.

Navigation/Approach

Approach to the boatyard and moorings is via the River Ausa, which lies on the N side of the Laguna di Marano. The lagoon is entered via the Porto Buso entrance (see Laguna di Marano for details). The channel continues for just under two miles in a NNW direction before arriving at the entrance to the Rivers Como and Ausa. The River Ausa branches off NE around 500 metres from the entrance (Marina Sant’Andrea lies a further 500 metres along the N-going channel of the River Como). The riverside moorings and boatyard of  S.B. di Simionato Giovanni lie about four miles upriver on the starboard side just before a road bridge. Depths in the river entrance are 6.5 – 7.0 metres, decreasing by the time you arrive at the moorings to 2.0 – 2.5 metres.
