More notes about the marina

This is a large and very popular marina. It is home to several charter fleets.

Marina radio contact

Contact (see below) before entry the harbourmaster/manager' (capitanerie).

Navigation/Approach

See Martinique.

Berthing

The marina is operated by the township, it has room for over 650 yachts. These can be accommodated either along floating docks or off-shore on laid moorings.

Once you are near the marina contact the capitanerie at VHF channel 9 and they will send an attendant with an inflatable to guide and assist you. If you are to dock, have a long line ready because you tie to a mooring buoy about 35 m away from the dock.

Warning: There are significant tides here, so adjust your lines and/or passarella accordingly.

Marina facilities

Clustered near the marina are many stores, chandleries, boutiques, a bakery, restaurants, charter companies, a car rental, etc.

Repairs

  • Haul-out is possible
  • A small yard for repairs
  • Diesel mechanic
  • Sailmaker

Security

The marina is open to the public.

Marina Location

Several shops near the marina. The town of Marin is a short walk up the hill. Many stores there and a post office.

Transport

Good road connects with the rest of the island.

For transport outside the island see Martinique.

Price

For current prices contact the marina.

Personal experience

I left my boat in the marina from March to mid June 2005. Other than incredible growth of weeds at the bottom of the boat and heavy mildew in the cabin, I have no complaints. --Istioploos
