There are 4 marinas in the port of ''Eivissa'' (city of Ibiza) and you could book a berth online in [https://www.marinareservation.com/marina-marina-ibiza-1310 Marina Ibiza] or [https://www.marinareservation.com/marina-ibiza-magna-2-1312 Ibiza Magna]. Ibiza is the third largest of the Balearic Islands. Together with Formentera and a few smaller islands it forms the group of the Pityusic Islands (aka Pine Islands).

The coast of Ibiza is home to posidonia oceanica, a seagrass only found in the Mediterranean that supports a diverse coastal and marine ecosystem.

The island is a World Heritage site, for it's biodiversity and culture.

There are 4 marinas in the port of Eivissa (city of Ibiza) and the other two are in Sant Antoni de Portmany and Santa Eularia Marina. All of them are known for notoriously high prices in season.

For details see individual ports.

Anchorages

There are plenty of anchorages around the whole island, but finding a good anchorage in season could be a problem.

History

Ibiza was first settled by the Phoenicians (Carthaginians) in 654 BC and then by the Greeks who called the island Pitiusas. After the Punic Wars the island was taken over by the Romans. In 1235, like the rest of the Balearic islands Ibiza was conquered by James I of Aragon.

Places to Visit

  • The island contains numerous Phoenician ruins
  • Dalt Vila -- Eivissa's fortified and walled old city dating back to the 16th century
  • Santa Eularia des Riu -- see an old church at the top of a nice hill; Walk Passeig Marítim -- seaside promenade from the port towards the estuary of Riu de Santa Eulalia
