Isla Canela is a small island located south of the town of Ayamonte, in Andalusia, Spain. The mouth of the Guadiana River is next to the island, and Portugal (across the river) can be easily seen from Isla Canela. The island is a popular Summer resort thanks to its beaches.

Navigation

The Marina of Isla Canela is situated just under a mile from the entrance to the River Carreras. A red and white marker buoy about half a mile off the moles at the river entrance should be left close to starboard on the approach, which should be on a course of 312°. The ends of the moles are marked with red and green markers (lit). Keep to the port side of the channel to avoid the shallow sandbanks to starboard. A large blue sign on a white-painted building to port about a mile upriver from the buoy indicates the position of the marina. There are often large fishing boats on moorings just south of the marina entrance and smaller ones to the north side of the marina basin.
