Marina radio contact
- The marina is crowded. Make advance reservations by calling +30 22920 63700.
- Before entering hail the marina at VHF Channel 12.
The approaches to the marina are straightforward, no dangers other than the ferry boats operating out of Lavrio Harbor.
Berthing
The Olympic Marine Company in Lavrio (Λαύριο) is operating a large marina in the Gaidhouromandra cove 37°41.8′N, 24°03.7′E. While the marina can accommodate several hundred yachts it can be crowded in the summer. It is best to contact them in advance at +30 22920 63700 in advance for a reservation.
Before entry to the marina, contact them via VHF channel 9. You will be shown to your berth.
If you are entering or exiting Greece, the marina personnel will direct you to the town of Lavrio for the formalities.

Repairs/Yard
At the same location Olympic Marine operates a very large shipyard. The yard has the capability to do any job (they used to construct Olympic and Carter yachts here).
They can haul-out vessels up to 200 ft. long and have space for 700 boats on the dry.
I have maintained my boat here for many years until 1999. While they have good technicians I was finally fed up with long waits after which work was done in a hasty manner, unkept promises, and very high prices. I do not recommend the yard.--Istioploos

Personal experience
- I have kept a boat at Olympic Marine off and on since 1985. While it is true that in the past it was difficult to get work done in a timely manner this is no longer the case. My 10,30m catamaran has wintered on the hard here since 2008 and I have nothing but praise for the current management and staff. All work has been done promptly and at a reasonable price. My annual contract allows me to stay on the hard for 1 year and includes haul and launch plus a couple of days in the water. The price this year (2013-14) is 2700 euros and this includes the 23% value added tax. Also, as a result of the economic crisis the Marina is no longer as crowded as it was in the past. Bathrooms are clean and there is a restaurant and chandlery on site. --Daphnoula
