More notes about the marina

Marina di Porto San Rocco is a purpose-built marina and leisure development on the S side of the Gulf of Trieste, just over a mile SW of the main commercial harbour of Trieste and half a mile W of the picturesque harbour of Muggia. The marina is the last suitable port of call in Italy before the border with Slovenia. Developed in conjunction with Camper & Nicholsons, it provides berthing for up to 546 yachts of up to 60 metres. In addition to providing all the services expected of a full-service marina, the harbour is also a useful base for a visit to the town of Muggia, 15 minutes walk to the east along the coast.

Communication

Call Porto San Rocco on VHF channel 74 or 16. Alternatively, telephone or email in advance for berthing information and reservations.

Navigation

There are no hazards in the approach to Porto San Rocco, other than shipping traffic entering or leaving the port of Trieste. The breakwaters of the harbour and the apartment blocks behind are identifiable from some distance off. The harbour is entered from ESE. Depths in the entrance are 9.0 - 10.0 metres. Shelter is good in all conditions.
