The town of Oeiras is situated at the mouth of the River Tejo in [[Portugal]] on the north coast of the estuary, roughly equidistant from [[Cascais]] and [[Lisbon]]. The appearance of Oeiras on the yachting horizon dates from 2006, with the construction of a small, modern marina in the town just east of the Renaissance fort of São Julião da Barra. The marina of Oeiras is sited roughly halfway between Cascais and Lisbon, immediately to the east of the conspicuous Renaissance fort of São Julião da Barra. The marina reception pontoon is to starboard on entry, or call VHF 09 on approach. You will be met by staff.

However, there are regular trains to Lisbon along the coast (travelling time 15 minutes). The marina is also a possible base to visit Sintra, the summer get-away of the Portuguese Royal family in past centuries, which is a must see. The marina offers a shuttle service (price of a taxi).
