 The small harbour of Rovenska |
The small port of Rovenska lies on the E coast of the island of Losinj, immediately SE of the harbour of Veli Losinj and 15 miles S of the Osor canal. It is a useful port of call in settled conditions when the harbour of Veli Losinj is full. Like Veli Losinj, the harbour becomes untenable with strong N winds.

Islands
There are no dangers in the approach to Rovenska, although note that the end of the long breakwater that encloses the harbour from E should be given a good clearance. Depths in the harbour range from 5.0 metres in the inner harbour to 10 metres in the middle of the harbour. Shelter is good in all conditions except strong N winds, when it becomes untenable. The breakwater gives partial protection in strong E winds, but the harbour still becomes uncomfortable.

The nearest port of entry is Mali Losinj.
Berthing
The inner harbour is filled with local boats and it is unlikely a visiting yacht will find a berth there. The best position is on the outside of the short breakwater that protects the inner harbour from N, where there are several buoys laid with mooring lines tailed to the quay. Depths here are around 8.0 metres. Alternatively anchor and take a line ashore to the long E breakwater, where depths are 4.0 - 5.0 metres, or anchor in the middle of the harbour in 10-12 metres. The holding is good in sand and mud. Shelter is poor with anything N in the wind.

The village is as picturesque as its near neighbour, Veli Losinj, albeit usually quieter. There are several good restaurants around the harbour which specialize in seafood.
