Marina radio contact

Call VHF channel 09 - (before entry). For long term arrangements call at +30 22730 61600. The manager Mr. Spyros Moustakas, is very eager to please his customers.

Navigation/Approach

The approach to the marina is straightforward. It is best to stay close to the jetty on your port side as you enter the marina.

Berthing

The attendants will meet you outside the marina with their inflatable and guide you to a berth. They will assist you to dock. There are laid mooring lines, do not anchor.

If you are either entering or exiting Greece, you will have to walk to Pythagorio, 15 minutes, for the formalities.

NOTE: The attendants are not at the marina 24hr/day. They usually arrive sometime between 9-10 AM and leave around 8-9 PM.

Marina facilities

  • Restaurant Closed 2013 --Istioploos 07:24, 12 June 2013 (BST)
  • Café
  • Supermarket (Closed 2014)
  • Dive Shop
  • Car Rental (Closed 2014)

NOTE: The marina advertises on their web site many services and facilities that do not exist.

Repairs/Yard

  • 80 ton travel-lift for haul-outs
  • Long-term storage on paved hard surface (more expensive than storage in the water)
  • Fiberglass, canvas, electrical, and engine repairs. NOTE: these are independent contractors and do not report to the marina's management.
  • There is a sailmaker's shop (off the marina)

Security

There are great plans (closed circuit TV, gatehouse, 24hr security etc) but as of the spring of 2014, the provided security was minimum. Nevertheless, Samos is a very low-crime area.

Marina Location

The marina is a 15 minute walk from Pythagorio. Taxis can be summoned.

Transport

  • There are many car and motorbike renting agencies. Budget has an office in Pythagorio. Aramis in Pythagorio is very friendly to cruisers
  • Taxis can be summoned (phone: +30 22730 61440)
  • Public bus stop, 10 min walk uphill
  • Samos Airport is only a 10 minute drive

Price

For current prices are no longer available on the marina web site. However, in 2010 their prices were hiked by about 25% and again for 2013 and the marina is now rather expensive.

Personal experience

I keep my boat regularly at the marina. In general, I am very pleased with the staff but not with the prices. Unfortunately the marina has been neglected and the physical plant is deteriorating. --Istioploos
