St. John's is the capital of Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada. It is the oldest city in North America and is located on the Avalon Peninsula. It has just above 200,000 citizens, the metropolitan area is the second largest in Atlantic Canada, behind Halifax. The city spans 446.04 square kilometres (172.22 sq mi) and is North America's easternmost city.

Navigation

The approaches to St John's via The Narrows (91 m) wide) are straightforward. Keep the with green leading lights passing over a depth of 11.8 m, reduced to the lowest normal tide.

  • St John's is the easternmost point on Trans-Canada Highway 1, the main road across Newfoundland
