Anchorages

  • We anchored at the Burano anchorage and reached Torcello via our Zodiac tender. See the Burano section.
  • Free docks: in Torcello island, there are free docks for your tender at the back of the Torcello Basilica —literally on the church's backyard, which faces a canal. We also saw a smaller sailboat (12 meters or less) overnight at the free docks. There are no laid lines so a sailboat must drop anchor and back off into the docks. There are usable Venetian-style mooring rings sunk in the brick pavement. The finger piers cannot support a lot of weight, so do not moor there unless on settled weather, and there are is no water nor electricity. Toilets are open during museum hours and are probably closed at night.
