Welcome to CruisersWiki!

We all look forward to your valued contributions to the Cruising Wiki. Help it grow as a useful, free resource for all cruisers around the world.

Spend a little time reading the help pages (link in L/H menu) and the Style Guide to gain a better understanding of the Wiki formatting and how to edit articles. Please add what you can - even correcting grammar and spelling errors in articles is a great help. The more you use the Wiki the easier (and more addictive) it becomes.

Use any page's "Discussion" tab (top of page's menu) to ask any questions or make any suggestions about that particular page.

Please set your personal preferences in "My Preferences" (link at top R/H of page when logged in).

Also, please read the Cruiserswiki Copyrights notice, as well as the General Disclaimers (links at bottom of pages).

Again, welcome and have fun! Bring out that hidden "Cruising Guide writer" in you. Lighthouse 13:06, 10 October 2011 (BST)

New approach to the Wiki

We are in the process of making some major changes to the World Cruising Wiki to make it easier for subscribers to contribute comments and updates without having to master complex templates and editing routines.

We plan to introduce a new facility for users to post personal experiences or comments on pages for harbours they visit by simply clicking on a 'Comments' tab. The admins will then – if necessary – use the information to edit and update the page.

This 'Comments' page will also act as a useful depository for users' experiences and suggestions to be read in conjunction with the main page.

We are running this initially as a test covering Italy, Croatia, Montenegro and Albania and it would be a great help if you could take a look at the pages for any harbours you have visited in these countries and post some comments to test the system. I know you have now left the Med but you were kind enough to input some information back in 2012.

We would also welcome any initial reactions you may have to the change or any suggestions for taking it further. You can do this either by replying directly to me or by joining the discussion on the future of the Wiki at [1].

Best wishes
