Welcome to CruisersWiki!

We all look forward to your valued contributions to the Cruising Wiki. Help it grow as a useful, free resource for all cruisers around the world.

Spend a little time reading the help pages (link in L/H menu) and the Style Guide to gain a better understanding of the Wiki formatting and how to edit articles. Please add what you can - even correcting grammar and spelling errors in articles is a great help. The more you use the Wiki the easier (and more addictive) it becomes.

Use any page's "Discussion" tab (top of page's menu) to ask any questions or make any suggestions about that particular page.

Please set your personal preferences in "My Preferences" (link at top R/H of page when logged in).

Also, please read the Cruiserswiki Copyrights notice, as well as the General Disclaimers (links at bottom of pages).

Please note that massive changes by a new editor will be considered spam and the editor will be blocked. Try at the beginning making changes to pages describing places that you have actually visited.

Again, welcome and have fun! Bring out that hidden "Cruising Guide writer" in you. Athene of Lymington 10:09, 23 October 2013 (BST)

Spetses

Dear Pelagos

It is very good that you started adding information to our wiki. As it appears that Spetses is your first attempt here are some guidelines:

 1. There is no reason to add extra blanks in the headers, ==Spetses== is fine and you should NOT change it to "== Spetses ==". This is a waste of effort and in variance to our Templates.
 2. Blank lines under a heder, which you have added, are not necessary. On the other hand blank lines before a header, which you have deleted, make the code more readable to other editors.
 3. There is no reason to change the order in the info box parameters. Another waste of your time, a variance to our Templates, and makes the code harder to read. i.e. | class="infobox bordered" style="width: 28em; text-align: left; font-size: 90%;" should not be changed.
 4. should have been left alone. You removed the caption of the picture. This applies to all the images that you have done so.
 5. In various bullet items space between the bullet symbol and the text while not needed make the code more readable to other editors. So, you should have left alone : ": BA" , ": 1031 Yerakas to Kea" and others.
 6. Do not change ampersands "&" to "& amp;". The wiki handles them and you are wasting your time.
 7. Do not change <br /> to <br> the former is an HTML standard.
 8. Do not edit the contributors section. If you have made substantial contributions just add Pelagos.
 9. In general do not edit the navigation bar unless you are creating a new page. "|" are fine and need not be replaced by &"#124;".
 10. Underscores such as "Category:Islands_-_Greece" are not needed, "Category:Islands - Greece" is fine, leave it alone.
 11. Finally do add the date of your visit and your name Pelagos to places that you have visited.

In this particular page you have added very little new material but have created a lot of work for the administrators to undo your spurious edits. I do not want to discourage you but if you follow these tips you can become a valuable member of our group. Do not hesitate to contact me with any questions or for additional help. --Istioploos 16:22, 10 November 2013 (GMT)
