Visby [ˈviːsbʏ] is a locality and the seat of Gotland Municipality in Gotland County, on the island of Gotland, Sweden with 24,330 inhabitants, as of 2017.
Visby is a UNESCO heritage site and one of the best preserved Hanseatic towns. It was as important commercially in the Middle Ages as Paris or London. Its importance declined due to the devastation of the 18th century wars, so much of the medieval city is preserved.

Visby Harbour
Visby harbor is a narrow port in relation to the traffic situation during the summer months. Ferry services, cruise lines, oil tankers and built of a new cruise dock that all leisure boats must pay attention to. It works great because most people observe a good seagoing crew.
The guest mooring are in the northeast part of the inner harbour. Full facilities, water, electricity, laundry, WiFi, fuel. Pump-out. ATM, provisions , and restaurant nearby.

- There are several bus lines going out to the rest of the island, check the timetable before heading out though
- There are a few sightseeing "trains" - practically a couple of trailers with seats and roofs pulled by a vehicle making tours around the old town with an audio guide playing through the speakers
- During the summer there are usually plenty of bike rentals, but they can be expensive, if you're staying for a longer period purchasing a used bike might be a cheaper option
