Schooner Cove is an excellent anchorage in Bathurst Channel. It is sheltered in all except strong easterly weather. Anchorage in 4 metres plus on a mud bottom. The black arrow shows the location of an aboriginal ochre mine and midden. Note that there is a covered rock in the middle of the bay, normally marked by a pole. Photograph by Peter McHugh, 21st January 2011.
