Navigation

Approach to moorings is straightforward. Depths around 10 meters at low water. The bay becomes shallow ~25m off the castle's shore.

Entrance

Loch Ranza is a port of entry for United Kingdom. For details see Entrance: United Kingdom.

Berthing

Berthing on pontoon is not available. There is a small pontoon for a short stay, mostly used for dinghies of yachts on moorings.

The depth might be sufficient for a yacht at high water. If you chose to approach, stay at the deeper external side of the pontoon.

Marinas & Yacht Clubs

None.

Anchorages

A line of blue moorings available at the middle of the bay. Red moorings are private. There is a box for donations at the gate to pontoon. As for the summer of 2017 they asked 12 pounds for overnight stay on mooring and 2 pounds for berthing dingy.

The anchorage is open to westeries which might be very uncomfortable. However waves don't have enough distance to develop, so at 5-6 Bft the stay is still comfortable. Very good protection from other winds.
