Plan of Marina Zut

Marina Zut (ACI Žut) is situated at the NW end of a large bay, Luka Žut, on the NE coast of the island of Zut in the Kornati archipelago 10 miles off the mainland coast of Croatia.

The marina, which opens from 1 April to 31 October only, offers a total of 120 berths for yachts up to 40 metres in depths of up to 3.5 metres. The marina is safe in most wind conditions, but some of the berths can become very uncomfortable in strong E winds.

Because of its isolated position, water and electricity are rationed by only being available at restricted hours (and a substantial charge is made). In addition to the marina berths, there are also 15 mooring buoys laid in the bay.

Communication

Call Marina Zut on VHF channel 17. Alternatively, telephone or e-mail for advance reservations.

Navigation

The approach is largely free of dangers, although there are numerous islets and reefs in the approaches to Žut Island generally and care is needed. There is a small islet, Maslinjak/wiki/Marina_%C5%BDut#MaslinjakIsland icon Maslinjak [[Marina Žut#Maslinjak|Maslinjak]] 43°53.154'N, 015°18.578'E , in the entrance to Luka Žut, which can be passed on either side.

Shelter in the marina is good in most conditions, but strong E winds make the berths at the S end of the marina very uncomfortable.

Berthing

Berthing assistance available on request. Visiting yachts berth stern/bows-to at a long concrete catwalk at the W end of the bay. Depths on the catwalk vary from little over 1.0 metre in patches to 3.5 metres at either end, so it is important to state your draft when mooring. Laid moorings at all berths. In addition, there are 15 mooring buoys to the E of the marina which can be used when the marina is full (but you will be asked to moor at the quay if not).
