Marina Porto Atlantico is located in the large commercial harbour of Leixoes, 14 miles S of the harbour of Povoa de Varzim and around two miles N of the entrance to the Douro river and the city of Porto, with its marina of Douro Marina. Marina Porto Atlantico is run by three sailing clubs, Clube Naval de Leça, Clube de Vela Atlântico and Sport Club do Porto, and offers 248 berths for yachts of up to 20 metres in depths of 3.5 metres.
Communication
Call Marina Porto Atlantico on VHF channel 09. Marina office is open daily 09.00 - 12.30 and 14.00 - 1830. If no response, berth on the reception pontoon (immediately to the left on entering the marina) and wait for the office to re-open.
Coming from the north, the huge oil refinery of Petrogal Refinaria do Norte is conspicuous, two miles before you arrive at the harbour breakwater. From the south, a yacht will pass the mouth of the Douro River just over two miles before the entrance to Leixoes. As with most harbours along this coast, there can be an uncomfortable swell at the entrance in strong winds and the outer breakwater should be given a wide berth. Least depths in the harbour are 4.0 metres. The marina is located at the NE corner of the commercial harbour.

Berthing assistance may be provided by calling in advance on VHF channel 09. Berths are bows or stern-to on floating pontoons.
