Albufeira is a rather gaudy, purpose-built leisure and marina development 15 miles east of Portimao and seven miles west of Vilamoura in Portugal. The marina provides 475 berths for yachts up to 29 metres in depths of up to 4.0 metres.
Communication
Call Marina de Albufeira on VHF channel 09.
The outer basin is entered from due east between two breakwaters on a course of 315 degrees. There are two light structures painted with red and white and green and white stripes respectively on the ends of the breakwaters. Proceed up the fairway between the small craft moorings to the marina in the inner basin. The channel is dredged to a depth of 4.0 metres.
Berthing
Berthing assistance may be provided by calling in advance on VHF channel 09. Yachts tie up in the marina alongside on finger pontoons. Depths on the pontoons range from 2.5 metres to 4.0 metres.
