More notes about the marina

The Marina di Cortellazzo is situated near the town of Cortellazzo on the W bank of the river Piave on the Adriatic coast of Italy. The river enters the sea eight miles NE of the entrance to Piave Vecchia and 16 miles NE of the Porto Lido entrance to the Venetian Lagoon. The marina offers a total of 124 berths for yachts up to 15 metres, but in shallow water of barely a metre.

Communication

Try calling Marina di Cortellazzo on VHF channel 09 or 16. You will probably have better luck by telephoning or e-mailing in advance for berthing information and reservations.

Navigation

The entrance to the river Piave/wiki/Marina_di_Cortellazzo#PiaveWorld icon.png Piave [[Marina di Cortellazzo#Piave|Piave]] 45°31.680'N, 012°43.685'E is on the Adriatic coast of Italy, eight miles NE of Piave Vecchia and 16 from the Porto Lido entrance to the lagoon of Venice. The entrance is prone to silting and depths can be as little as 1.5 metres at low water. An entry should only be attempted close to high water and on a rising tide. The deepest water is indicated by a fairway marker buoy and marker posts leading into the river. Enter in the middle of the channel, keeping at least 10 metres off the posts. Entry should not be attempted in strong onshore winds. The Marina di Cortellazzo is situated on the left bank of the river 1,000 metres upstream from the entrance, past the smaller marina of Nautica Boat Service.

Berthing

Berthing assistance available on request. Berths are on four pontoons laid out from the riverbank. All berths have mooring posts for four-point mooring.

Note: At low water the depths at the pontoons are barely 1.0 metre.
