Pictou (Scottish Gaelic: Baile Phiogto) is a town of 3,186 inhabitanta in Pictou County, in the Canadian province of Nova Scotia.

Pictou is approached via the Northumberland Strait. The entrance to the Harbour is straightforward with two ranges and several channel buoys providing assistance. The least depth in the channel over the bar, on the alignment of the leading lights, was 6.5 metres (21 feet) in 1998. Within the bar depths of 9.1 to 13.7 metres extend to the causeway.
Berthing
The port is used by commercial and cruise ships. But there are several marinas for yachts.

Pier B Marina
12 berths are available for boats up to 30' and two berths for boats up to 40'. Each berth is serviced with fresh water, electricity, garbage removal and keyed access to floats. The marina is used by Coast Guard Inshore Search and Rescue. Available water depth is 8 ft to 17 ft. Storage is available in a secure compound.

Pictou Marina
The marina has approximately 95 sheltered slips for yachts up to 40' (12 m) length. Water, electricity, toilets, showers, fuel, WiFi. Travel Lifts, up to 20 T, mast step In & Out, electrical, mechanical, & fiberglass repairs. Approximately 1 - 2 km to restaurants & groceries.
