Portobello is a spanking new (opened September 2010) and very upmarket marina situated in the Porto Mercantile (commercial harbour) of La Spezia. The marina has been constructed on an artificial island between the naval harbour and the commercial docks and provides a total of nearly 500 berths, including for superyachts up to 100 metres. As might be expected from a marina pitched at superyachts, the standard of the facilities here is extremely high, as are the prices.

Porto Mirabello is situated immediately E of the extensive breakwater of the naval harbour. From a distance, three tall chimneys behind the harbour with alternate red and white bands are a good landmark. The marina is entered from the SE end between the concrete quay enclosing the marina and a narrow curved breakwater.

The marina is 10-15 minutes walk from the centre of La Spezia, with its numerous shops and restaurants.
