This is the most comfortable marina in the Madeira archipelago.
Communication
Mr. Miguel Mendes Moreira, the marina director is very friendly and helpful.
You can call in advance on the telephone for a reservation. But it is hard to get a response on the VHF.

Berthing
The marina uses "finger" pontoons. The attendants, if you arrive during working hours, will see you to a pontoon.
Warning: With strong easterly winds the "finger" pontoons do not hold the boat securely and damage may occur. Use an anchor and extra lines to hold the boat away from the pontoon and docks.
Facilities
- There was a restaurant, Pato Bravo, within the marina, but it closed indefinitely in early October 2012
- You can leave your laundry at the marina office for 25 € / load
- There is free wifi in front of the marina office ("Assistencia Nautica" blue building, SSID "33/16")
- There is no chandlery, however the marina/shipyard has a few parts
Repairs
There is a small yard that can haul out a boat. Repairs are limited. For details ask at the marina office (marina and shipyard are run under the same company, affiliated to Quinta do Lorde marina in Madeira)
Security
None, but the island is very safe.
Location
The town is a 20 minute walk from the marina.
Transportation
There are daily flights and ferries, weather permitting, to Funchal where there are regular flights to Lisbon and other European cities.

Personal experience
- The staff are very friendly and helpful. Nevertheless, during our visit while we were away in Funchal for a few days, a nasty easterly gale developed and my boat, S/Y Thetis, sustained some damage despite prompt action by the attendants. --Istioploos
