Prižba

| |
The small harbour the village Prižba is located in the bay of the U. Prižba Mala, which lies on the S coast of the island of Korčula in Croatia, seven miles E of the SW tip of the island and just over two miles W of the harbour of Brna.
The harbour lies on the W side of a narrow, wooded isthmus that protects it from E winds but is completely open to W and SW winds. The tiny inner harbour is too shallow for yachts, but there is a jetty on the W side of the harbour where a visiting yacht can berth in suitable depths.

There are islets and shoal patches just off the coast both to the E and W of Grscica [[Prižba#Grscica|Grscica]] 42°53.677'N, 016°47.721'E and careful attention to the chart is needed on the approach. The harbour is situated on the W side of a wooded peninsula protecting it from E winds. Note that there is an isolated shoal patch
Hrid Cerin [[Prižba#Hrid Cerin|Hrid Cerin]] 42°54.027'N, 016°47.380'E , 500 metres SW of the end of the peninsula. Depths in the approach are 8.0 10.0 metres and in the harbour range from 1.0 metre at the quay to 4.0 metres on the end of the jetty.
Entrance
Vela Luka is the nearest year-round port of entry.
Berthing
Jetty
The best berth for a visiting yacht is on the end of the jetty at the W end of the harbour. There are several small craft moorings on the inside of the jetty, but the end is usually clear. Depths at the end of the jetty are 4.0 - 5.0 metres. The holding is moderate only in sand and weed with rocky patches, so be sure your anchor is dug in if leaving the boat. Shelter on the jetty is good except with anything W or S in the wind when there is a swell which would be dangerous in strong winds.
An alternative berthing option if the end of the jetty is occupied is to anchor in 3.0 metres and take a long line to the quay E of the jetty. Depths here are only 1.0 metre or less, so only shallow draft yachts will be able to get close enough to step ashore.Marinas & Yacht Clubs
None.
Anchorages
Anchoring off is not recommended here as the holding is only moderate and poor in places. A better anchorage is at Brna a mile E.

Very little to do here, but at least it’s quiet. There is a pleasant beach on the E side of the peninsula, five minutes walk from the harbour.
