- The Porto Nuovo pontoons in Salerno are imprinted on our memories as the only place in the Mediterranean where we have had the question: ‘how much to moor here?’ answered with the question: ‘how much are you prepared to pay?’ --Athene of Lymington 14:58, 16 December 2010 (UTC)
- Anchored off Vietri Sul Mare and took the dinghy across to the Commercial Harbour where we tied and locked it to some rocks at the base of a pontoon with fishing boats. One day we took the Sita Sud bus to Amalfi and Revallo, the other day the train down to Paestum. Both were excellent days out. Life Part 2 was quite happy at anchor with good protection from northerly winds, and westerly swell. May 2015 --Life Part 2
