Born back in 1953, I am a retired computer professional, now an amateur sailor.

Started sailing with dinghies in 1972, Fireflys with my University Sailing Club. Owned my own Laser in Dubai for three years, 1981 - 1983 (Jebal Ali Sailing Club). Got into cruisers on return to UK (water was too cold for dinghies!).

Started the RYA paper-chase in 2004, and passed my RYA Coastal Skipper in 2007. I also hold a VHF licence and an ICC.

480 days / 14,000 miles logged on cruisers, 215 days as skipper.

Most of my early sailing was on charters in Greece and Croatia, but since my retirement I have also been assisting with yacht deliveries.

Longest voyage to date: Mallorca to the Solent as a watch-keeper on a Hanse 575.
