Sailor, Cruiser, living full time aboard S/V Adventure (currently located in Cape Fear area of North Carolina).

Rick and JoAnne (wife) have been living the dream for just over two years now. Both are amateur Radio operators (N0NJY and KB0IRW).

Rick is retired from the military (26 years USAF) and as a contractor for the Missile Defense Agency (18 years) and a world traveler before moving on a boat, with fifty or more countries visited in his career. JoAnne is retired from many years of restaurant operations and working with the USAFA cadets in her last 8 years of her service to the country. Both are "survivors". Her from cancer and him from a genetic heart disease which required major open heart surgery in 2015 to repair.

We currently (at the time of this writing August 2017) have about eleven years experience on sail boats. We have sailed islands of the BVI, the Pacific Coast, and the East Coast.

Our home is a 41' Transworld Ketch (William Garden design), full keel, heavy displacement ketch (16 ton), with three cabins, two heads, solar power and a Perkins 4-108. Overall length is 50'.

Rick is an Administrator for the Leaky Teaky Yacht Club (Facebook), moderator for "Sailing and Cruising: active/former military" (Facebook), Admin for "Sailing & Cruising:Preppers". I also blog other things, as well as administer web sites remotely. JoAnne is a moderator for the Sailing & Cruising (Facebook) group.
