Welcome to CruisersWiki!

We all look forward to your valued contributions to the Cruising Wiki. Help it grow as a useful, free resource for all cruisers around the world.

Spend a little time reading the help pages (link in L/H menu) and the Style Guide to gain a better understanding of the Wiki formatting and how to edit articles. Please add what you can - even correcting grammar and spelling errors in articles is a great help. The more you use the Wiki the easier (and more addictive) it becomes.

Use any page's "Discussion" tab (top of page's menu) to ask any questions or make any suggestions about that particular page.

Please set your personal preferences in "My Preferences" (link at top R/H of page when logged in).

Also, please read the Cruiserswiki Copyrights notice, as well as the General Disclaimers (links at bottom of pages).

Again, welcome and have fun! Bring out that hidden "Cruising Guide writer" in you. Istioploos 07:13, 9 July 2013 (BST)

Chios Anchorages

Thank you for your recent updates. Just some notes:

  1. There is no reason to add spaces in headers i.e "====Langada====" is OK no need to change to "==== Langada ===="
  2. Also no reason to encode ampersands "&., the Wikimedia handles as they are.

Please to not hesitate to ask any questions or help.

Dear Memo18111

As I have already communicated to you you are expending your effort needlessly. There is no good reason for for encoding & (&amp) or spaces (&nbsp). The engine that drives the wiki is WikiMedia and NOT pure HTML. WikiMedia handles these without the need of encoding.

Further headers i.e. items preceded by === are used by other wiki pages as link targets. So your meddling with them is not only unnecessary but get be harmful. Please DO NOT edit headers as you are consistently doing.

Also there absolutely no reason and does more harm then good for you to add <spans>. Please stop coin this.

The use of <divs> should be limited to the bare minimum. Again I noticed that you have started adding empty "
". That accomplishes absolutely NOTHING.

In lists, by convention, we use a space between the list directive. So we have "* List item" instead of "*List item". We do this to make more readable for future edits. So, again, please do not remove these spaces.

WikiMedia also handles "|" and you should NOT encode them to "&#124" as you have done in Cesme Marina. This last page you have made the bottom items totally unrecognizable. I had to revert your changes and re-enter all the substantial one you had made.

I wish that you would concentrate on adding new material rather then spurious "cosmetic" and possibly harmfull edits. Please ask for help instead of barging forward.
