Cudillero is a small fishing village on the coast of Asturias in NW Spain about 30 miles west of Gijon. The village itself is very picturesque, being constructed on the slopes of a natural amphitheatre, with narrow streets leading uphill past brightly coloured houses. The fishing harbour is still very active, with the sad result that there is usually not very much room for yachts and it is often necessary to raft up on one of the fishing boats, which usually tie up fore and aft to the buoys in the harbour.

Local Weather
Local weather conditions?
Sources for Weather forecasts:
There are rocky reefs and outcrops both east and west of the harbour. Keep at least 600 metres offshore until the breakwater of the harbour is identified. Approach from due north then turn right to enter the large outer harbour. The inner harbour is shallow and for small boats only. Depths in the channel are reported to be as little as 6.0 metres and it might be worth waiting for the second half of the tide if there is any swell running.
Check-in facilities (Customs and Immigration)
Make for the outer harbour, avoiding the large rocky outcrop to port just inside the entrance. Pick up a pair of fore and aft buoys if available or lie alongside a fishing boat. Depths in the harbour are around 5.0 - 8.0 metres.
