Angra dos Reis
Background
One of the best cruising grounds in the South America, there is 365 islands, one for each day of the year, very well sheltered anchorages with white sand beaches and excellent holding (sand or mud bottom), no strong currents and the tidal difference is no more than 1.85m. A lot of diving, and small islander villages to visit, all just a few miles away from each other, water falls and much more.
The best times to sail: If you wish to sail south bound to Angra - October to April; north bound from Angra - May to September. Angra is the main yachting ground in between Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo cities.
There are many boat yards and facilities to repair or build a boat, ramps for multi hulls and travel-lift up to 70T, dry storage on the weather or sheltered.
At the main harbor and the surrounding areas there is Wifi coverage. Angra is 2,5 hrs drive from Rio de Janeiro City and 4,5hrs drive from São Paulo City.
