Immigration
Visas are not required for citizens from the following countries: Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and British citizens with the right of abode in the UK. The latter are allowed stay for one month and then must apply for a visa which will be vailid for a further two months.
The following nationals receive visas on arrival: Andorra, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Brunei, Canada, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hong Kong, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Malaysia, Monaco, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Portugal, San Marino, Singapore, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, United States of America, Vatican.
All other nationalities require a visa prior to entry which is vaild for 30 days (with no extensions). Israelis (and people with an Israeli stamp in their passports) are denied a visa.
Visa applications must be arranged via a sponsor (a UAE resident), hotel or travel agency. A multiple entry visa should be obtained if intending to visit more than one state. For those arriving without a visa, especially if it is made clear that only a short stay is intended, the Immigration authorities may retain your passports and issue yacht crews with a landing pass which is valid for 48 hours.
