Dikili

Dikili (Port of entry)
Background
Dikili [39° 05' N 26° 53' E] is a commercial harbor across from Lesvos, yet it is a safe place to leave the boat for a visit to Pergamon 28 km away. It can be rather dusty from coal powder, depending on the wind. The people are very friendly.

Approaches to Dikili are straightforward without dangers.
Check-in facilities
There are no moorings here and you will have to anchor in 3-4 m and come stern-to the quay.
Dikili is a designated port of entry. Here, however, there is no marina or an agent to help you with the formidable, but friendly, bureaucracy which seems to be dispersed all over the town. Best to avoid them. Routes/Passages To/FromPopular passages/routes, timing, etc. |

Personal Notes
We checked out of Turkey one hot Sunday from Dikili. It took us over 4 frustrating hours chasing various officials throughout the town. They did not seem to be familiar with yachts. Better go to Ayvalik if you can. --Istioploos 09:31, 20 June 2008 (MDT)
