The Sidi Bou Saïd marina, at Cape Carthage is the marina closest to the city of Tunis and where all the affluent Tunisians keep their yachts (mostly large motor-cruisers). As a result it is vary crowded marina. It is highly advisable to make advance reservations. For address and telephones see below.
The marina is a very convenient place to leave a boat with good proximity to Tunis but, first you must go to the TGM (local train for Tunis) station which was is 365 steps up the hill.
It is highly recommendable to walk (or drive) up the hill and visit the picturesque settlement of Sidi Bou Said itself!
Communication
Hailing the marina the VHF channels 09 and 16 does not always produce a response.
Warning: One difficulty with the approaching to the marina is its entrance. It gets silted and has to be dredged. You may have to wait for a dredge before entering or once inside you may be trapped until the entrance is cleared again.
Situation June 2018
The entrance is silted at the south (green light). Entry & exit were no problem (draugh 1.7m) by sticking to the northern part of the entry (red light). Depth according to sonar was not below 3m.
Berthing
Whether they had responded to your hail, after you do enter the marina an attendant will direct you to a berth.

Personal experience
- The water in this highly priced marina is dirty --Istioploos 18:21, 7 December 2008 (UTC)
- I posted a price list for 2018 (see above). The marina was not dirty, but sometimes the water was (depending on wind pushing together the swimming dirt). Nevertheless, the facilities are... poor, to say the least. --User:Strich 15:11, 8 June 2018 (UTC)
