Elbow Cay is unique in its diversity, and offers a real potpourri of island style diversions. One of The Abacos' more popular island hideaways, and certainly one of the largest, Elbow Cay is home to The most famous landmark in the Abacos - the red and white striped lighthouse. The '''Hope Town''' lighthouse is one of only three kerosene-powered lights in the world, and all three are in the Bahamas. The large Fresnel lens floating in a bath of mercury generates a light visible for more than 17 miles. There is no motorized traffic in Hope Town, and the hilly streets must be explored on foot.

The Network begins its day at 8:15 each morning and continues for just over an hour. Weather reports are given, cruiser news and information is exchanged, newcomers and returnees welcomed to the area and those departing for stays elsewhere are bid a fond farewell. Advertisements for restaurants, bars and community events are announced free of charge and there is a special segment called the "open mike" which invites comments and advice from anyone in the area who can tune in to VHF 68.
