Approach and Navigation

  • Care should be taken on the approach to the western side of Nosy Be as there are many coral heads.

Check-in facilities

Anchorages

  • Anchorage will be found on the east side of Hell-ville. Anchor in 10 - 15 meters - the bottom is mud and good holding. (Note: The tidal range is 4 meters)
  • Crater Bay, 13°24′.0S 48°13.2E. Very sheltered and very quiet with a small local market ashore. It is possible to get a taxi to Hell-ville.

Security

Boardings and theft from yachts have not been a problem but outboard motors are a prime target. Take the necessary precautions.
