Lefkas Marina lies at the N end of the canal that separates the island of Lefkas from the mainland coast of Greece and links the Ionian Sea to the so-called ‘Inland Sea’ to the S. The marina offers 620 berths on seven pontoons and associated quays in depths of up to 4.0 metres. A full-service marina, it is also one of the most expensive in Greece, with daily berthing charges in high season among the highest in the S Ionian.

Marina radio contact

Hail the marina on VHF channel 69 on approach.

Navigation/Approach

See Lefkas. The marina lies inside a long, L-shaped wavebreak pontoon that shelters the berths from E and N. Entry is from S between the wavebreak pontoon and the jetty with the fuel berth at its end. You can moor to the fuel pontoon from either of its three sides.

Berthing

Follow directions to a berth. Marina staff will help with mooring. Laid moorings at all berths.

Personal experience

  • While I have never been to this marina, I have heard several complaints about its high prices --Istioploos 14:51, 17 July 2008 (MDT).
  • I can confirm the high prices. Typical daily berthing price for 13 metre yacht (September 2011) € 65. The price is high considering there is no marina wifi and showers are extra! --Athene of Lymington 16:12, 28 September 2011 (BST)
  • I agree the prices are high when taken on a daily basis. The monthly rate works out better, though is still notably higher than for example Cleopatra Marina in Preveza or Messolonghi Marina at the western end of the Gulf of Corinth. Members of organisations like the Cruising Association are given some discount on the standard rates. Showers are charged extra, but the cost is very minimal, and a good length hot shower can be had for less than € 0.50. Personally I prefer to pay this and get a hot shower than get a free shower which may or may not be hot. There is wi-fi in the marina, though there is quite a high charge and on charter turn around days I hear it can get overloaded. Marina staff are friendly and helpful. On the negative side, disco music from the town can be a little disturbing on the town side of the marina, and when a southerly wind is blowing some smell may come from the refuse tip to the south of the marina. --Wayward 19 October 2012
