More notes about the marina

Marina Dalmacija is situated on the N side of the large bay of Sukošan, around six miles S of Zadar on the Adriatic coast of Croatia. The marina is separated by the two mile wide Zadar Strait from the two long islands of Ugljan and Pašman to the west. The marina offers a total of 1200 berths for yachts up to 25.0 metres (80 metres for yachts in transit) in depths of up to 7.0 metres.

Communication

Call Marina Dalmacija on VHF channel 17 prior to entry. Alternatively, telephone or e-mail to inquire about berthing or advance reservations.

Navigation

The bay of Sukošan is approached either from NW along the channel separating the mainland from the island of Ugljan or from SE along the E side of the island of Pašman. Smaller yachts and motor boats can approach via the Prolaz Zdrelac, the narrow channel between the islands of Ugljan and Pašman; however, note that the channel is crossed by a road bridge with only 16 metres clearance. In the approach, the masts of yachts in the marina are conspicuous at the N end of the bay. The bay is entered leaving a white concrete light tower off the peninsula at the S end of the bay to starboard. The marina entrance is between two short breakwaters half a mile due N of the light tower and is accessed from SE.

Berthing

Berthing assistance available. Small to medium-sized yachts (up to 20 metres) berth in one of the two basins of the marina bows or stern-to on long concrete piers with laid moorings. Larger yachts (20 - 40 metres) are usually berthed stern-to the ‘island’ just E of the marina entrance, while superyachts in transit up to 80 metres berth alongside on a special transit quay. The facilities are being upgraded (Oct 2015). There is a new modern office and a new restaurant on the side of the marina nearest Sukošan. Transit yachts tend to be berthed on quays on this side. However, the other side is where charter yachts are based and where the supermarket and laundry are. It is 20 minutes walk from the new marina office to the supermarket. If you need the market or laundry, ask for a berth where the charter yachts are.
