More notes about the marina

The Marina di Cattolica is situated on the Adriatic coast of Italy, around nine miles NW of the port of Pesaro and 12 miles SE of the harbour of Rimini. The marina provides a total of 175 berths for yachts up to 35 metres in two separate basins. However, the harbour entrance is shallow and access to the marina is only possible in settled weather.

Communication

Contact Marina di Cattolica on VHF channel 12 prior to entry. For advance reservations, telephone or e-mail.

Navigation

The harbour, like many along this coast, consists of a canalized river basin, the Tavollo river, with a series of three additional basins off it to the west, two of which are operated by the Marina di Cattolica. Extensive shallows along the coast and limited depths in the entrance mean that the harbour is only suitable for shoal draft yachts and entry should only be attempted in settled weather. Depths in the entrance are 2.7 - 3.0 metres, in the outer marina basin around 4.0 metres and the inner basin around 3.0 metres.

Once through the entrance, access to the first marina basin is immediately to starboard; for access to the second marina basin, continue past the second, commercial basin, also to starboard, and pass under the swing bridge, when the basin will be found 100 metres further on, again to starboard.

Berthing

Berthing assistance available on request. Berths in both basins are on a series of pontoons and quays with laid moorings.
