Berthing Options

There are approximately 8 different marinas or yacht clubs within the Port of Palma. Berthing is med style, stern to with bow lines provided by the marinas. The port is also home to STP, a very large shipbuilder. Virtually all nature of repairs or refurbishments are available to yachts of all sizes.

Anchorages

Anchoring is not permitted within the port but an anchorage exists just outside the port in front of the cathedral.

Marine Stores

Submit addresses and contact details of marine related businesses that are of interest to cruisers.

  • Merc Nautic is a large chandlery on the Paseo Maritim across from Club de Mar.  Merc Nautic also have a second hand store on the Aveneda Joan Miro in the city not far from their chandlery on the Paseo.
  • There is at least one other chandlery on the Paseo Maritim.

Repairs/Yards

  • STP is a major shipyard able to provide all manner of repairs or rebuilds for boats of all sizes.

Things to do Ashore

Tourism

List places of interest, tours, etc.Palma is a charming old city with a great many attractions.  Among others are:

  • Belver Castle
  • Cathedral
  • shopping on the Paseo Borne

Grocery & Supply Stores

  • A large Mercadona supermercado is located on Aveneda Joan Miro above Marina Port de Mallorca.  
  • A Carrefour is located in the Porto Pi shopping Centre at the West end of the port.  Porto Pi has all variety of stores.
  • Santa Catalina Market is located off the Aveneda Argentina, not too far from the Port.  This farmer's market type market offers excellent meat, fish, produce, and an interesting insight into the cultrue.

Eateries

  • There are literally hundreds of restaurants close to the Port to suit every taste and budget.

Internet/WiFi

Available?Most marinas offer wifi of varying quality.  Many restaurants are also wifi.

Laundry

  • Many 'lavenderias' are available to provide pick up and drop off service to yachts in the marinas.  The marina office can assist in this regard.  When using the services of a lavenderia, specify if you wish wash, dry and fold, or wash, dry & iron.  Laundry services are expensive and ironing is much more so.  Self serve laundromats are almost unheard of on Mallorca.

Motorbike & Car Rentals

  • Many companies offer both within an easy walk of the port.

Garbage Disposal

?Available at the marinas.  Most are now offering recycleing bins.

Transportation

List transportation (local and/or international.)

  • Taxis are abundant.  Rates are fixed.  Cues exist around the city but cars may also be flagged down.  Marina offices will call a taxi for you.
  • City buses are frequent and reliable.
  • The Port of Palma is only about 20 minutes from the Palma Airport which offers flights all over Europe.
  • Bicycle rentals are available on the Paseo Maritim.
  • The Port of Palma is located in the heart of the city allowing much to be seen & accomplished on foot.
