Personal Notes

  • A charming and sleepy little fishing village, Port Albert has an interesting history but these days doesn't come alive outside holiday seasons, when the many Melbourne residents who own holiday houses arrive.
  • Facilities include a wharf, marina and a ramp for trailer-sailors. Fuel is available 500 metres from the wharf at a petrol station which doubles as a general store. There are a couple of restaurants and an old pub, which also serves meals and may have rooms available.
  • The farming township of Yarram is about 7km away on the South Gippsland Highway, and has many more facilities including banks, supermarkets, real estate angencies, hardware stores and so on.
