More notes about the marina

Senibong Cove Marina, Malaysia, is a 50 berth residential marina of Senibong Cove Homes that offers safe, sheltered berthing all year round. Its close proximity to Johor Bahru city centre accords the boaters the full convenience, activities and luxuries that a city can provide. The berths are also open to non-residents subject to prior reservation and approval by the marina management.

Communication

VHF channel 9.

Navigation

A detailed guide is given here: http://www.senibongcove.my/marina/approaches/

Salient points:

  • Best to approach at mid tide and above, during daylight hours.
  • Approaches are shallow but wide, keep your eye on your depth sounder.
  • Entry is marked with 2 red and 2 green barrels.

Berthing

Marina staff are usually on hand to assist with berthing.

Facilities

  • Showers, toilets
  • Cafe, bar and restaurant
  • Small general store

Repairs

Dalac Marine is highly recommended and is about 1m to the east of the marina.

Security

The marina has a locked gate with swipe card access.

Security guards are on post 24x7.

Location

There are a number of shops near the marina, in the town of Permas Jaya. Further away, in Johor Bahru is a full range of stores.

Transportation

You can refer here for bus routes:

There are generally two types of taxis plying the roads of Johor Bahru. These are the red color cab ( which is cheaper) and the blue colour taxi ( more expensive) While the law requires all taxi to go by meter, there are some that do not. DO ask if the taxi will go by meter WHEN you board.

The regular cabbies for SENIBONG COVE MARINA are:

  • Mr Yee (red color cab – vehicle number HJA 3184) tel: 012 7751519
  • En Jalal (red color cab – vehicle number HJA 3322) tel: 016 7374984

both are reliable and use their meters and have an excellent command of English.

Price

Approx RM1200 per month for the B arm, prices vary for the other arms. Contact the marina by email for updates.

Personal experience

  • Delatbabel -- Berthed here from October 2015. I found the staff to be relaxed, helpful and reliable. The marina provides the most convenient access to Singapore without the high prices to be found in Singapore itself.
