First sailed at age 10. Raced dinghies in my teens. Bought my first cruiser, "Chiriya", a 23' wooden bermudan sloop, in 1973. Fitted out "Lliutro", a Sadler 25, 1975-77, with a variety of junk-based wingsails, sailed her in the English Channel for 12 years. Fitted out "Ivory Gull", a Maurice Griffiths Lone Gull class, 1990 - 95, with a JR schooner rig, sailed her around the Irish and Scottish coasts. Co-designed, with David Thomas, "Tystie" and had her built by Hedley Bewes. Completed the fit out myself, launched in August 2000. She has a wingsail/ketch rig. Cruising to date: Up and down the North and South Atlantic and North and South Pacific.
