Uturoa, Raiatea (Port of Entry)

Uturoa, Raiatea, is the second largest town after the capital, Papeete, although it is very much smaller.

Approaching Uturoa is relatively simple -- all dangers are marked. See also Raiatea and the notes for any marina being entered, e.g. Marina Apooiti.

Check-in facilities (for Customs and Immigration)

Uturoa is a port of entry via the local Gendarmerie but final clearance needs to be done in Papeete. See the section on French Polynesia for further details.

Berthing Options

There are two basic options for berthing in Uturoa:

• [[Marina Apooiti], about 5km to the west of the town.
• Berthing temporarily outside the main wharf of the town.

There are anchorage areas to the west and north of the town but be aware that there is a large no-anchor zone in the vicinity of the nearby airport.
