Arica Port of Entry

Arica, with a population of 196,590 , (/əˈriːkə/ ə-REE-kə; Spanish: [aˈɾika]) is Chile's most northern city and is just 18 km from the Peruvian border. It is a major commercial seaport. It is a free port for Bolivia and manages a substantial part of that country's trade.

Weather
Arica has a mild, temperate climate with some of the lowest annual rainfall rates anywhere in the world, consequently, there are rarely any clouds over Arica. Its mild weather has made Arica known as the "city of the eternal spring" in Chile while its beaches are frequented by Bolivians.

This is a large commercial port. Yachts avoid it and either moor on the yacht club's buoys or anchor off.
