Auckland is New Zealand's largest city, with around 1.4 million people calling it home. It is situated primarily adjacent to the North Island's fjord-like Hauraki Gulf coastline, giving access to shipping from the north or east, with further access to the southern suburbs via the west coast's Manukau Harbour. Auckland is a thriving and modern city with fine weather, great scenery, friendly people and many offshore islands to explore.

Marinas & Yacht Clubs
- Westhaven Marina - Website - a 15 minute walk from the central waterfront district - has standard boating facilities (laundry, showers, etc)
- Viaduct Harbour Marina - Website - pricy but location, location, location! No shower/laundry facilities - boat entrance requires lifting of pedestrian bridge (will lift 24 hours a day on demand - call 'Viaduct Control' on VHF #73). Marina has 24 hour security with cell phone. Access via keycard. Docks have power, potable water and sewage pump connections. Plenty of restaurants within a stone throw. Nearest public coin laundry is Bubbles; up the hill open 6am - Midnight.
- Viaduct Marina - Website - Same great downtown location as Viaduct Harbour, but without the need for the lifting bridge. As of Dec 2018 - Currently undergoing major renovations in preparation for the 2021 Americas Cup
- Silo Marina - Website for super yachts - right downtown
- Bayswater Marina - Website. Across the harbour, requires use of ferry $ or car to get to Auckland central. Website has ferry timetable. Ferry times are regular but primarily for commuter traffic, reduced schedules on weekends and holidays. Ferry cost is extra.
- Orakei Marina = Website. 4.5km East of Central Auckland waterfront.
