Manihiki is an island in the northern group of the Cook Islands known informally as the "Island of Pearls". It is approximately 1,299 kilometres (807 mi) north of the capital island of Rarotonga, making it one of the most remote inhabitations in the Pacific Ocean.

The entrance into the lagoon is only passable by narrow vessels drawing less than 1.5 m.

Ports
There are no ports in Manihiki but there are 2 villages: Tauhunu [[Manihiki#Tauhunu|Tauhunu]] 10°25.323'S, 161°01.958'W , the larger one on the western rim of the atoll, and
Tukao [[Manihiki#Tukao|Tukao]] 10°22.847'S, 161°00.710'W at the northern tip of Ngake or Te Paeroa motu, which runs along the northern-eastern side of the atoll. Neither has any docking facilities for a yacht. Yachts anchor off outside the lagoon on its West side.
