Manly is located approximately 19 km (12 mi) east of the Brisbane central business district. Surrounding suburbs are Wynnum (to the north), Lota to the South and Manly West (to the west). To the east lies Moreton Bay.

Take care entering Manly Harbour to stick strictly to the entry channel. Surrounding water can be under 1 metre, the channel and harbour is dredged to 2m SAT, so vessels with over 3m draft should only enter at high tide, and those over 4m should seek another location. Tides in this area are 1.5 to 2.5 m.

East Coast Marina
This is a commercial marina which accepts small cruisers and permits live-aboards. All facilities, laundry, pump out facility, internet. Fuel in the harbour. Cafe (am only). Range of marine services.

Royal Queensland Yacht Squadron Marina
Royal Queensland Yacht Squadron Marina [[Manly#Royal Queensland Yacht Squadron Marina|Royal Queensland Yacht Squadron Marina]] 27°27.438'S, 153°11.506'E 594 Floating Berths ranging in size from 10 to 33.5 metres mono berths and 12 – 18.5 m; Multihull berths. Visiting yachts are welcome at this marina, run by the Royal Queensland Yacht Squadron. All facilities (& new pontoons), fuel berth, laundry, WiFi, bar and restaurant. Boatyard with shore storage, 35 ton travel lift, all repairs.
